    Hi everyone,
i found this paragraph in the documentation:

“Although the_content() is usually called from the template with a standard text as described above, it is possible to have an individual text for certain posts. In the visual editor, simply write <!–more Your custom text –>.”

I tried to do as written but the more tag either doesn’t shows up or ignore the custom linktext.

I’m sorry for the noob question .-P

  • You need to be in the HTML view of the post editor for the custom more tag to work. If you prefer writing in visual view, write up your whole post, then switch to the HTML view and insert your custom more link.

Alternatively, you can download a plugin like Headspace II that adds a module on the write panel to just type in the more text for each post.

I found that the problem was a plugin (Custom – More Link). I simply deactivated it and it worked like a charm!

    Thanks for the patience!
