<!–more–> doesn’t work when post limit is set to 1
-
I’m making a blog that has a 7-month life cycle due to the subject (I’ll post it when it goes live so you can see what I mean). Because of the specific layout, I have to limit WordPress to 1 post per page.
My problem: I can’t get the “more” link to work on the index page when it’s limited to one post. There’s no way around the layout, and even if there was, we want only one post on the site at all times.
Is this a problem that’s been encountered before? Has anyone discovered this and found a workaround?
Right now, I have a band-aid applied with the limit-post plugin so it’ll just automatically put a “more…” link in when there’s over 400 characters.
I’ve been all over the place tonight trying to figure out how to do this. I haven’t found anyone with a similar problem, so I’m hoping maybe I was just using the wrong search terms and couldn’t find what I was looking for.
Thanks,
