Lowest price variation with all prices the same

  • Hi. I have a question about the “Only include lowest priced product variations” option. As seen here https://adtribes.io/wp-content/uploads/Screenshot-2020-09-28-at-14.29.52.png

    If a product’s variations all have the same price then all varitions are included in the feed. This seems a bit weird to me. My assumption is that this option’s purposes is to include only 1 item per product. However the behavour of the option is contrary to this.

    I wondered if there’s a good reason why. (and if not try to get it changed :P)

    My expected behavour is that if all the variation prices are the same, only 1 item would be included in the feed.

    The feature does exactly that, include all variation(s) with the lowest price. When all variations have the lowest price all those variations are added.

    When you only want to have one variation in your feed you can use the default variations feature as explained in this blog post: https://adtribes.io/how-to-add-only-one-product-variation-to-your-product-feed/?swcfpc=1

    Unfortunately using the default option isn’t useful in my case as I don’t want to select a default. I want the customer to have to choose.

    I guess what I’m after is “include the variation with the lowest price”. If there are many then ignore duplicates. Meaning the feed would show Variable Products as if they were Simple Products.

    It sounds like this isn’t possible right now. That’s fine. Maybe treat it as a feature request?

    Unfortunately thats indeed not possible right now (unless you create an exclude rule per product variation but thats not exactly a scalable solution).
