We are using several different visual portfolios. Among them grid, masonry, and carousel. On the linked page, only the images in masonry seem to be of high-quality (possibly because they are the smallest). Both in the used carousel at the top and grid in the middle, the images look to be of low-resolution.

The source files uploaded to WordPress are not the originals – yet they still are of more than sufficient quality at a maximum of 3000×3000 pixels. If added in a WordPress galery, they look much sharper.

Unlike with other galery plugins I don’t see an option here to select which proxy-image size Visual Portfolio uses. It seems clear to me it is only using something like the 360px-version which even on a mobile phone looks too blurry.

Is there a way to force it to use a higher-quality image for the previews?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hey.

Image high quality is loaded automatically by lazy loading script. And as I can see, on your site all images are displayed in good quality. For example:

    1. https://shot.nkdev.info/4PW6wjPx8JVdK91sX1Q2 – this image is 1280×640 while the block size is 617×308. So, we see the image, which is twice bigger then needed. Actually it is because of I have a retina screen and our script tries to load x2 image size so I can see it sharp.
    2. https://shot.nkdev.info/vyw8sPCc400LPdCyzJmk – the same here, rendered image is 500×600, while the block size is 233×280

    Regards, nK.

    Thanks a lot.

It must be my eyes deceiving me then. Maybe I’m just used to viewing the images in larger sizes making details easier to see. Here the 130DPI of my monitor didn’t seem to be enough :).

I didn’t think to inspect the elements. Will definitely try that first next time.
