    Hi!
Your plugin is only as good as its resolve to matters and it seems you have done a great job of both.

Excuse me if I sound ‘lame’ but I’m just starting a email list subscription due to few requests we’ve been getting but I’m totally confused right now. I’ve signed up to MailChimp and did a couple of ‘test’ emails but I’m confused about certain things:

1.) Why do I need a site such as MailChimp? Can’t I use my own website email along with your plugin?

2.) We have 4 sub-sites. Can I use the same design-style plugin for all of them? And if so how?

  • Hi kath001,

    thank you.

I understand certain things may be overwhelming at first, so do not apologize for asking ??

MailChimp is what we call an email service provider. Their service allows you to collect emails in a database, and send your subscribers an email with a simple mouse click (instead of having to email each and every subscriber one by one). They also provide you with statistics (how many sign-ups, how many people have actually opened the email you sent, etc.).

Optin Forms is a plugin which helps you collect the emails by adding an optin form to your website or blog. It is not a standalone solution, which means that it doesn’t save any information into a database. This is where MailChimp (or a different email service provider) comes into play.

Yes, you could use the same form design on multiple sub-sites. Is that what your second question is? Let me know!

    Hi Boris!
Yes you have answered both questions perfectly! Now I understand.Thank-you so much for explaining it so clearly!
(No wonder your plugin has a perfect 5-star rating! I’ve never seen that before.) I will also be rating it the same.

The plugin is great! Real simple to use yet versatile – and all for free! How do you do it? Hands down the best free solution out there indeed!Keep up the great work!

    Hi Kath,
