Love to learn WP

  • I would love to learn WP, but I know it keeps changing and I would love to learn the latest version without having to read too much online. I am a fast learning watching videos, If anyone knows of a good learning site, please share the wealth ??

    I worked with Joomla but did not like it, my friends tell me WP is the best and I want to believe ??

    Depends on what you want to learn.

    https://wordpress.tv/ has a lot of videos, but the vast majority of info about WordPress is still textual.

    How can you learn, If you can’t even start to learn?

    WP doesn’t keep changing, Changes made between different versions are not a big deal.

    Download WordPrees, Install it (That takes like 2 minutes) and you’re all good to go. It is so tweakable and easy.

    I installed it, i guess best way is to play around. lynda.com has a tutorial on it but it is only on blogging, i am interested to make websites using it. Maybe soon they will have videos.

    Yes, sorry for CMS.

    Just roll up your sleeves and give it a go. It’s pretty intuitive and 90% of what you need could be figured out easily.

    Forget the videos. Unless you’re looking to do some advanced customizations, this can probably wait.

    I installed a copy of WP on a server and had it hidden. I tinkered and played with it. Imported an old Blogger blog into it. Kicked the tires. When I learned enough I installed WP on my final server and went live.

    Find your learning groove and work with that. It wont be over night, though. Take your time and learn it well enough to make it do what you want.
