A few days after launching MailPoet, my server admin noticed a huge number of post commands, mostly directed at admin-ajax.php. (before 4000/day, a few days or weeks later 2000/hour).
Could it be your plugin or something related to it? Is this technically possible? I turned it off + several others + disabled heartbeat and now it’s OK! Otherwise, I really like this plugin and want to use it in the future, but first I need to figure out what’s wrong on my site.

    Hello @rajkonocko ,

MailPoet on its own is generally fairly lightweight and should not lead to crashes on a server. However, every site is unique with different combinations of plugins/theme/server environments, etc.

Do you have specific/detailed error messages from any of those server notices or server PHP error logs? If so, please copy the contents of the log into pastebin.com — click “Create a new paste,” and send the resulting URL so that we can take a look.

If none, since everything is okay, then you should have nothing to worry about. Although if your server admin notices high cup usages again, I’d recommend that you set up Linux cron option.

Once this is done, your CPU usage will go down.

Let us know if you need further assistance.

    Have a great day.

    Hello Ojoma,
In meantime I was waiting for your answer I found a perfectly working solution in the Setting/Advanced/Newslwttwer_Tasks_Sceduler/Visitors_to_your_website option so I maybe will not ever try Linux_cron_option. Thank you anyway for your suggestion!

But … you needed more than 10 days to answer my big problem. In meantime, my server provider limited activities on our site, and I had to deactivate MailPoet and switch back to MailChimp. It wouldn’t be a problem if we were not in congress time… I have a lot of trouble and work consolidating all lists. Fortunately, I used the E-mail system for the background option…
I prefer using MailPoet because it is integrated into WP and this way it is better for my administrators. I think I will use it in the future if it will work OK, but first I have to test it 100% after this problem. In meantime, I will use both, MailPoet & MailChimp.

So, should I stay on the Visitors_to_your_website option or switch to Linux_cron_option?

p.s. Otherwise, if I haven’t these problems I would already give MailPoet 5 stars – I like it!

    Hey again @rajkonocko !

Sorry to hear about the difficulties, and glad you are liking the plugin.

For your situation, we generally recommend using the visitors to your website option, as it’s the most generally reliable option, with the least setup needed.
