Something is REALLY messed up with my site, and I could use some help. My theme has disappeared and my blog is non-existent at the moment. I moved some things around in my directory and poof the site is gone!

On my dashboard I get a series of error messages:

Warning: array_keys() [function.array-keys]: The first argument should be an array in /home/content/24/7889624/html/wp-includes/theme.php on line 519

Warning: uksort() [function.uksort]: The argument should be an array in /home/content/24/7889624/html/wp-admin/includes/class-wp-themes-list-table.php on line 49

Warning: array_slice() expects parameter 1 to be array, boolean given in /home/content/24/7889624/html/wp-admin/includes/class-wp-themes-list-table.php on line 56

If I try to install a new theme I get this error message:
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/content/24/7889624/html/wp-admin/includes/theme-install.php on line 265

and if I click the install button I get this:

    Could not create directory. /home/content/24/7889624/html/wp-content/themes/pretty-parchment/

    Theme install failed.

Is there any hope for me in fixing this? This seems like a lot of errors and I’m a newbie so I’m very confused and stressed out that my site is gone!

I still have access to my admin panel and the posts and pages are still there, but something is wrong! Thanks

You’ll need to use FTP and check that the wp-content/themes/ directory exists, error messages like that generally suggest that the themes directory has been removed entirely (Or is unreadable for some reason)

You may want to install a theme via FTP whilst you’re there to see if that corrects it.

Okay that makes sense but I don’t know where to upload my theme because (bear with me I am new to ftp) I noticed something strange in the directories. There seems to be duplicates of the WordPress files. There is a folder called “WordPress” and inside contains the wp-admin, wp-content, wp-themes folders and other wp files.

Also in the main directory (root directory?) there are more folders with the same names – wp-wp-admin, wp-content, wp-themes.

The reason I got in to this mess is that I could not edit a theme my theme – I was getting an error message that said the ‘theme does not exist’. I think this is because the directories are messed up? I tried to move them and this is when my problems started. Any idea what I should do? Does anyone know how it should look and can I simply delete the duplicate folders (which ones?) At this point I’m not actually sure which themes folder that I should upload my theme to.

here is a link to what it looks like

Another view of the main directory with the WordPress folder that contains the same files.

looks like you have two installs of wordpress one in root and one in wordpress folder

Looking at just images looks like have the right folders in root but do you have any other website in root?

Okay the white screen of death is gone and the problem is *mostly* resolved. (I still cannot edit the style sheet on Beauty & Clean theme – if someone would like to help me out with that I’d appreciate it: https://mysayulitadream.com)

Here is what I had to do in case others run in to similar issues.

First I did an XML export in WordPress to save all of the posts, pages, etc.

Then I called GoDaddy technical support (very good by the way).

I deleted all of the current files and restored files to a previous version. Then I deleted the duplicate WP install (I have no idea where it came from).

Tip for godaddy users: the restore function does not work with IE 9. I was just getting the spinning wheel and nothing happened. I had to roll back to IE 8.

Here is a good tutorial on how to do a restore in Godaddy
