• Hello,

A month or so ago I cleaned up my site and removed over 400 blog posts.

I copied the DB tables over to a fresh wp install on my local machine and rebuilt the site before uploading it.

Looking in the google results for site:mysite.com I can see lots of results as follows

    mysite.com /blog/page/122/
    mysite.com /blog/page/8/
    mysite.com /blog/page/94/
    mysite.com /blog/page/28/
    mysite.com /blog/page/24/

These pages should load a 404 but they dont. they load the regular blog page template but with no content. If I try and click “edit page” it just loads my regular Blog page in the wordpress editor.

The page number should only go up to page 5 (theres only 15 posts on the site), after that there is no content.

Any ideas? very difficult to google an answer for this.

I *think* its something in the DB but I am not a developer.

Any help I would appreciate it!

    Have a good day, thanks

What did you actually do? Are there fewer entries in the posts table? Did you replace the table on your site, or just import the SQL?

I copied over the default WP tables only to a new fresh wordpress install on my localmachine.

Im guessing im going to have to dig into wp_posts and remove anything thats not part of the new site.

    (not looking forward to monday!)
