Lot of spam all of a sudden

  • Hello,

    this plugin seemed to be working great; all of a sudden we receive lots of spam. They are all as ‘product reviews’. CATPCHA is activated and we can also see it on the page. Is there a bug in the plugin that allows this?

  • Which version of captcha you are using?
    Can you create a review without verifying captcha?

    Like sanderrrrr, I have also noticed a marked increase in the number of spam comments that are getting through. I am using V2 for comments and have “Show login Captcha after how many failed attempts” set to 0 = show always.

    (I don’t know what “create a review with verifying captcha” means in the question to the original poster.)

    I’m also receiving a much larger number of spam comments and user sign-ups (Version 5.6 with V2 [i.e.,”I’m not a robot”] on WordPress 5.3.2.)

    I’ve enabled noCaptcha for these types of pages/posts:

    • Login Form
    • Registration Form
    • Multisite User Signup Form
    • Lost Password Form
    • Reset Password Form
    • Comment Form
    • bbPress New topic
    • bbPress reply to topic
    • BuddyPress register
    • WooCommerce Checkout

    Ideas? Suggestions?

    UPDATE
    Switching from V2 to V3 breaks the ability to log-in.

    CORRECTIVE ACTION

    • Move <DocRoot>/wp-content/plugins/advanced-nocaptcha-recaptcha to <DocRoot>/wp-content/.
    • Sign-in.
    • Move <DocRoot>/wp-content/advanced-nocaptcha-recaptcha to <DocRoot>/wp-content/plugins/.
    • Change Version setting to V2.
