Lost with my wordpress site

  • I have been working on getting the curriculum together for my wordpress site but between the theme and the course plugin zippy courses I don’t know what to do.

    The theme looks lovely (nice and clean)

    – I don’t have a landing page (which I need to walk my students thru the course and what it offers)

    – The theme I have is only made for a blog not a land page and blog

    – When I add the course plugin it modifies my theme and strips everything away.
    I don’t want to spend thousands on development but that looks like my only option.

    Can someone offer their advice sometimes when your in the midst of it all it’s hard to see it all (objectivity will help here).

    If the theme can display a page (and I don’t see why it shouldn’t), you can set up your landing page just by creating a page (not post) in WP, and setting your home page to display that static page at Settings > Reading.

    Regarding the loss of styles, check with the theme developers via their support forum to see about keeping the page styles consistent. Sometimes they have a simple way to select this, sometimes not.
