• I have lost my website after trying to see if there was a problem in the function.php. I can’t log in. There is no way of getting to the dashboard. The only thing that shows up when I try to log in or just go to the website is this: “Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘/home1/mediaco2/public_html/akdphifsu/wp-content/themes/blackblue/inc/theme-options.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/lib64/php:/usr/lib/php:/usr/share/pear’) in /home1/mediaco2/public_html/akdphifsu/wp-content/themes/blackblue/functions.php on line 86”

Please tell me there is a way of restoring it. I made a back up on BackWPup plugin. but since it was a plugin is there a way to get to it outside of the dashboard? Please help. The url to my site is : akdphifsu.com

  • Did you create a local folder for BackWPup? When I back up my site using BackWPup I save to a local folder. If you did, your backup should be somewhere on your computer. Also, if you have not customized your functions.php file you could just download another copy of this file for the theme that you are using and replace the broken one.

@moeblaze – you can regain access to your site by renaming your theme folder using FTP access – on the server, navigate here:

    wp-content
         themes
              blackblue.HOLD

That should let you login again.

I don’t remember if I saved to a local file. I remember thinking of doing so, but I don’t think I did.

@WPyogi- I downloaded Filezilla and it says “530 login authentication failed” I definitely know the password. Could this be because of the problem?

You need to ask the hosting company for help with any FTP issues – as that’s not part of WP. Just to be sure, FTP login isn’t generally the same as your WP login unless you happen to have set it up that way.
