Lost username and password – help!

  • Hi –

    I seem to be unable to login to either of my two domains with my username and password.

    I have no idea what happened or if I changed it while doing a lot of troubleshooting and forgot..

    Yes –
    It comes back that my email is wrong. And I know it’s not because I have previous mail from wordpress with my username and password on it!
    I have been installing and upgrading things so I wonder if that affected it.
    I am completely confused as I have a wordpress.com free blog (where the username and password work) and then the CP admin login for my host which works, the msql user and data base names which are fine.
    Only the username and pass for my two new domains which I was working on just this morning..seem to be unavailable

    You have a wordpress.com blog which you can get into and a self hosted blog that you can’t?

    Or are the domains pointing to wordpress.com blogs?

    Note that if you are self-hosted and trying to use the username and password for wordpress.com that won’t work.

    What do you mean by CP admin login?

    I have a wordpress free blog and I am in the process of moving to a hosted wordpress blog at bluehost.
    The cpanel is for bluehost as is the mysql info.
    The bluehost domain I am moving to (I still want to keep the old free blog though) is mindbodypolitic.com
    Is it possible to send the info to someone privately?

    Right. The password at wordpress.com won’t work for your hosted blog.

    The cPanel password will only let you into the cPanel, not your self hosted wordpress install.

    Have you installed wordpress on your bluehost hosting yet?

    I can’t provide private support as I don’t have time I’m afraid.

    and I got email from wordpress at the email I provided both today and on previous installations with same user name I am trying now and not getting in

    the www.remarpro.com passwords for the hosted site worked fine and were different from the free wordpress site passwords. Its just today they dont work

    simple question, where can i get my cpanel username & password?

    I would imagine from your host.

    @new2blogging – Kaf is recommending you talk to your host, typically the company you pay money to host your domain. Maybe someone like bluehost.com or dreamhost.com.
