Updated to 1.9 and found I had no toolbar buttons on the write page, and couldn’t switch between Visual and Text editors.

Did a manual reinstall in case some files had gone missing, no change.

I’ve reverted to 1.8, and normal service has been resumed.

Theme is a 2012 child theme with minimal alteration.

List of plugins in use can be seen here

Let me know of you need any more information – I’m guessing this is something in my environment, otherwise there’d be a load more posts!

    Hi Les,
    Perhaps I missed your email?

Just checking. I’d like to resolve this thread ??

    Thanks.

    Hi Josh

I sent it through your contact form at the time. I think. I’ve just sent a fresh one.

Hi Josh – got the updated version, and given it a quick try, but we still have borkage.

The plugin now activates without any error messages, but it does this to the editor:

    https://losingit.me.uk/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/Editor.png

That’s a post with content, which isn’t accessible in this state. Deactivating custom styles makes this go away.

A lesser issue is that the options page looks like this:

I’ll only have limited opportunities for testing over the next week or so, but if you’ve got any ideas, please let me know

I’m sorry to waste your time Les. I thought I had it that time. My sincere apologies.

I’ll go back through everything very carefully; and test fully before I post back again.

    Don’t lose faith yet ??

No problem – and no rush. This is what I’d call a “nice to have” feature which I use sparingly rather than an “oh no, everything’s broken” one. ??

In WP Edit… Under the “Editor” Tab… do you have the “Add Predefined Styles” option checked… while also having the Custom Styles plugin active?

If so, try deactivating that option in WP Edit. The same feature is available in the Custom Styles plugin.

    They may be clashing?

Now updated to WP Edit 2.0 (I’m on a moderately slow mobile connection at present, so didn’t see this until now).

    Reactivated Custom Styles…

    And it works ??

Many thanks for sorting this out.

    Ahhh.. ??
    Wonderful news!

Les, I can’t thank you enough for your time.
Please keep me posted if you notice any other inconsistencies.

    Thanks again.
