    I have an issue whereby Lost Password Reset email is not being sent when PilotPress is active on a WP/WooCommerce site – when I disable PilotPress it all works ok.

    Please advise

    @neilgee – sorry I missed this; I didn’t get the notification from WP while my vacation reminder was on. I’ll investigate and let you and @thanp73 know what’s up.

    With PilotPress active we intercept the normal WP password reset process so you can control it from within ONTRAPORT and decide if you want to use the old-style alternate method instead (sending a password via email). Our article on the alternate method is at this link: https://support.ontraport.com/hc/en-us/articles/217882668 It might work in a pinch while we investigate what is happening with Woo and PilotPress activated.

    Just an update as this is taking much longer than I first anticipated.

    Right now, only the alternative method works for password reset. It is explained in this article: https://support.ontraport.com/hc/en-us/articles/217882668.

    We will be implementing a fix so the normal WordPress password change function will work as expected. PilotPress syncs the password back to ONTRAPORT when it is changed, so we have to be sure our solution is secure and works correctly. We apologize for the delay!

    Current status of this issue:

    Resolved for all WordPress sites hosted on non-ONTRAPORT servers. This means the password reset function will use your site’s mailing function to email the reset password link from ONTRAPORT to your user. The user will click the link in the email to visit the ONTRAPORT password reset page we provide, and the password will be updated in ONTRAPORT and in WordPress on the next login.

    For sites hosted on ONTRAPORT servers: you must use the alternate method as explained in this article: https://support.ontraport.com/hc/en-us/articles/217882668 The ONTRAPORT WordPress servers do not send email in any fashion, so the alternate method must be used.

    If your WordPress site cannot send email you must use the alternate method.
