• I have misplaced my password and, when I put in “admin” and my email address, I get an email with a new password. The login: is blank so it doesn’t seem to be associating the password with the login name. When I try to log in using “admin” and the password that was emailed to me, it doesn’t work – the login screen just reappears. What could be happening here? Unfortunately, I don’t have access to the database so I have no way of doing it manually.

  • your post is pretty confusing but I think the point is that you cannot login using the password e-mailed to you.

If you are positive that you are using the correct login username with the correct password, (whether it be one thats e-mailed to or otherwise) and you are unable to login — the only other option is to reset the password via access to the database.

You may need to speak to whoever is responsible for your hosting.

I got tired of posts like this, and made a script that handles putting the password into the db

Its NOT especially secure, but it works.
