I’m having a big problem with my domain name – url: https://www.magniworkk.com – not working. I can access part of the site (pages)- but not the blog posting via my url.

Someone suggested I try going to General Settings –> Reading, and make sure I don’t have it set as a static page. When I went to do that that part of the page had “disappeared”. By that I mean there are no “front page display” settings. The page only shows from “Blog pages show at most” on down.

My site is self-hosted and my host told me it looked like one of my plugins must be over-riding the system. I deactivated every plugin but still have no access to the front page settings.

    Can you help?

6 hours and not a word – is there another way to contact WordPress? I need help. If I can’t fix it how do I get rid of it?

Can you post your archive.php here?

What are your current settings on your Reading Settings?

    Current Settings in Reading are:

    Reading Settings
Blog pages show at most 7 posts
Syndication feeds show the most recent 7 items
For each article in a feed, show Full Text
For each article in a feed, show Summary

Encoding for pages and feeds UTF-8 The character encoding of your site (UTF-8 is recommended, if you are adventurous there are some other encodings)

Try that… Replace your current archive.php..
    Let see what happens…

I don’t get it – it works perfectly in Firefox, but only the domain name works in Safari – none of the other pages. They all give a 404 – Not Found. And yes, I cleared the cache and tried it again,

    Does that make any sense?

Thanks so much for your help. That was a good try. I wonder what the deal is with Safari?

Another way to describe the problem I’m having …

when I go to my wp-admin/options-reading.php page I should see as the first option “Front page displays” to let me pick whether the site shows my latest posts or a specific static page. I don’t have that option. It’s not on the page.

    Guess what? It’s working – I’m back!!!!

Your solution worked – my problem in Safari was I had my pages marked as drafts so they weren’t publishing. For some reason Firefox did show them after you re-did my archives.php.

    Either way – you’re a genius.

    Thanks!

I have 30 “published” posts and still have this issue.
I tried turning off all plugins, and a fresh download.
Still no front page display settings on the Setting/Reading page.
    Please Help!!!
