• I realize this may be a lost cause, but here goes:

I work with WordPress 3.6.1 right now, and because our theme is no longer supported, we can’t update quite yet (working on that). That being said, I updated our Subscribe2 plugin to version 10.18.2, and seemed to have lost all of our previous subscribers. Are our subscribers from a previous version of the plugin stored somewhere? I’m very new to this and hope I haven’t lost everything by updating. Any advice/help will be much appreciated. Thanks!

Unless you have a backup (or your hosting provider has one) then you may well have lost data. Have a look in Subscribe2->Subscribers for your subscribers data. If that’s pretty much empty talk to your hosting provider and ask if they have backups of the database tables – you’d need the subscribe2, user and usermeta tables.

Thanks mattyrob; unfortunately it looks like we lost the metadata. Is this something I need to keep in mind for future updates? Are my email subscription lists going to disappear every time I update?

You should not have experienced any data loss on upgrading but it is always worth making sure you have a good backup on a regular basis and before major updates.
