    Ok, I have had this site opdemotor.nl for a while now. I have written some stuff on it back in 2012 (yes, that long ago) and then just let it slide. However, I decided I wanted to get back to that site and bring it back to life. However, I have lost my access. And not my username, but when I go to https://opdemotor.nl/wp-admin/ it tells me the page does not exist. ??

    How can I find the place where I need to log in? Please?

    (And yes, I feel pretty stupid about this. Thanks.)

    (WordPress version is a guess, can’t find it and can’t log in to check.)

  • I cannot find any sign of WordPress on that domain.

    If you would look at the source at https://opdemotor.com/ you will see that it actually says:

    <meta name="generator" content="WordPress 3.6" />

    However, I just copied 3.9.1 over it to see whether that would make any difference. Also, my keychain solidly points to /wp-admin/ and not to another location.

    In the meantime I have tried to completely remove the wp-content/plugins/ and removing everything but the standard WP themes from wp-content/themes/

    Neither solved anything…

    The first url you posted was opdemotor.nl!

    you need to complete the upgrade on your site by going to https://opdemotor.com/wp-admin

    Did you make a database backup before you started this upgrade? if not, I suggest you do so now before proceeding any further. As you have such an old version of WordPress, you should really carry out a series of smaller manual upgrades (see Upgrading_WordPress_Extended for the full details). Upgrading 3 major version in a single step greatly increases the chance of database damage.

    LOL, how about that for stupidity… Must be Friday afternoon…

    Anyway, the update did it. I am probably going to restructure the whole thing again anyway, so the database is not a big concern of mine. Nor are the plugins. I just wanted to know whether I could still access it. Don’t know what was wrong at first, but the 3.9.1 apparently did the trick. Even though I know I should not have done it that way in the first place. If it hadn’t worked, I would have rebuilt the thing from scratch. (Backups were made before all this btw.)

    Thanks!

    Glad to hear that you now have access. ??
