• Hi, please help…I’m racking my brain on how to fix this.

I was working off of MAMP as my local host. I couldn’t get it to work properly with GoDaddy’s servers and tried to remove my WP site from MAMP and upload my files on my computer directly to GoDaddy. BIG MISTAKE. My WP account would say invalid user at this point. I couldn’t access my WP site or account.

I reinstalled MAMP. Lost all information, but was able to “repoint” my MAMP back to my WP account – now able to get into my WP account. I developed a “small” site and tried to upload it to GoDaddy.

Once I changed my WP address URL from “localhost/..” to the domain name, WP logged me out automatically. Now when I try to log back in – it says invalid user.

    How do I fix this?

    Bj

  • To clarify:

    – your “WP account” … is this at wordress.COM?
    – what specific type of hosting account do you have at GoDaddy? cPanel/Linux, Plesk/Windows or Managed WordPress
    – MAMP doesn’t specifically “work” with any remote servers per se; you develop a site locally with MAMP, then when ready, you upload the files to your hosting account and export the local database and import it into one that you set up on your hosting account.
