• I recently tried to upgrade to 2.1.2 after being on 1.6 and now my site quite literally turned into a blank white screen. I’ve tried to reload my back up files but that doesn’t fix anything. So I have two questions.

    1. does this sound even remotely like a WP problem or is it a server problem?
    2. Can anyone tell me where my old posts are stored? Are they on the server or somewhere within my wp-content folder?

I followed the directions for loading the site exactly and this happened. I’m worried that I may have lost everything, so any help is appreciated.

Also, if I can ask for specific details, that would help me better since I’m a complete neophyte to this stuff.

  • I am having the same problem. Even my admin console page has not been showing up, at least not regularly.

I’ve backed up my database, uninstalled and reinstalled, upgraded both WP and the database and still a blank white screen.

I’m using Godaddy, and I assume you may be too. From what I’ve read, shared hosting makes databases particularly slow, but I do not understand nothing loading at all, throughout the whole day.

All of your posts are in the database; as long as you don’t delete, modify it, you should be fine. You can always try to open in in phpMyAdmin and export a copy from there as well.

If you find an answer, please let me know.

I found my problem. Disable all of your plugins, deleting (back up first locally) from your plugins directory. That should work.

Then reinstall and enable each one to find the culprit.

Thanks Jeremiah. I did what you did and it seems to be working. Hopefully it will maintain.
