The formatting on my site has been, for want of a better word, lost. Here’s a link to one of my blogposts where you can readily see the problem:https://www.kimmunitee.com/website-help-for-non-profits/.

The problem, which I first noticed today, carries thru all of my blog posts. Not only that, formatting has been lost on some of my site’s pages. Finally, where once I had my e-mail on one line under “Contact Information” in the right sidebar, it now runs over into two.

An individual with iPage support worked for a long time on this problem and could come up with no solution. He said he’s, “At a loss. I tried everything I know.

This is very embarrassing as I just connected LinkedIn to my new business website and I’d very much like to make a good first impression.

You’ve helped me before and I hope you can help me again.

  • Did you by chance make changes directly to your theme’s files rather than create a child theme? Or is the styling that you’re referring to something you did right in the admin’s editor?

Or did you install any new plugins, move your site, update or anything else recently that you can think of?

I’m wondering if you received my reply from yesterday. If not, here’s a copy:

Thanks for getting back to me. I installed a LinkedIn plugin today (can’t remember the name; will look up later). Deleted it thinking that caused the problem.

I updated Akismet today, as well.

The styling I’ve done was thru my dashboard editor. No code has been added, changed or deleted.

To provide more info, I can look at my support ticket with ipage to see if anything else was done with the help of their support staff.

We’ll solve this problem, won’t we?

Try re-installing the theme incase any edits were done to its CSS.

Simply install a theme like TwentyThirteen, then delete NewMedia in the theme section in Dashboard, then resintall it by searching for it and installing.

Thanks for your response. Even though I didn’t edit the CSS (I wouldn’t even know how), I did exactly as you suggested. After searching for and installing NewMedia again, I still have the same formatting problem.

I just want there to be two lines between every paragraph like I had before. Here’s a link to my site where you’ll see the problem I’m having: https://www.kimmunitee.com/my-first-page/.

If you could help with this, I’d really appreciate it. It seems that everyone, so far, is stumped by this little problem.

Try to disable your plugins. look at your page and see if the paragraph spacing is fixed.

If so, enable them one by one looking each time. I think there is a conflict.

Dear janet4now, you are, in fact, awesome. After deleting the third plug-in, my original formatting reappeared. Thanks so much for helping me with this problem. You have no idea how much I appreciated it. Thanks to others, as well, for your advice.

    Marking as resolved.
