Lost files Help Please ?

  • I started a blog 2 weeks ago but due to server issues had to uninstall WordPress(which obviously removed all the files). Before uninstalling, I saved the ‘wp-content’, wp-admin’, and ‘wp-includes’ folders as well as the individual posts on my computer . I was wondering if the posts and the comments are retrievable from the 3 folders above(with the original date of posting) or do I need to copy/paste my posts one at a time (and all showing today’s date) and are the comments lost forever ?

    Did you keep a backup copy of your database?
    It really depends on when you uninstalled if your database was lost.
    Hope it gets resolved.

    Thank you for your response.

    I found a MySQL database backup in the form of a DMP file. Could that file be used to restore the site as it was before ?

    Not sure what a DMP file is. You might want to ask you host for assistance with that if you don’t get a better answer.
