• I upgraded to 2.7 and lost everything. It kept saying it could not connect to the database. Any ideas as to what happened? Is there such a thing as an uninstall?
    Thanks

  • There is no uninstall. Did you make sure to update the database info in wp-config.php?

Sonny, that error sounds like a problem in wp-config.php, like StephenNg says.

Looks like https://city-lynx.com/wordpress has a 2.7 blog running with bare data. You may want to use phpMyAdmin and see if your database tables are there and look at the table prefix (meaning if the table is called wp_posts then the prefix is ‘wp_’). It’s possible if you edited wp-config.php and didn’t use the correct $table_prefix that you would have installed a whole new set of database tables.

If you lost data, and you have no backup from before the upgrade, speak to your host.

Also review WordPress Backups to alleviate this problem in the future.
