• I have a temporary page online while I was building my real site on a local server.

I was ready to export everything and transfer it to my live site.
(built using MAMP server, I’m using a mac)

I followed an online tutorial which told me to change the local URL from https://localhost/wordpress (or whatever it was) to the url of my live site to avoid any issues with links etc…

So I changed the URL in the local host settings.
Shit… can no longer access the page.
Can not reset password, as my e-mail address is linked to my live page and only tries to reset the password for that account. Can not log back into my local site at all.
It’s just gone, everything has disappeared and I have no idea how to bring it back.

This is not good at all. I spent a lot of time building this and now I have nothing.

Can someone please help me out.

(all I have is a wordpress.sql file which I exported before changing the local URL)

They have cPanel, but no unlimited ftp with host gator. So I can only upload one file at a time, or upload through a ftp client such as cyberduck.
I think the speed issue is a problem with my crappy internet provider.

If I could get my local site back up and running I could rebuild the entire thing faster than this upload…

Got my local site back up.

I think I’m going to rebuild the live site from scratch rather than waiting for these uploads and messing around with everything else…

This could end in disaster, but I appreciate the help!
