Lost entire Category and associated Posts

  • Hi can you please help. I noticed the other day that an entire category and all its associated posts including associated tags are missing from my blog! I looked everywhere but can’t find it anywhere in the Dashboard ‘manage posts’ or ‘categories section’. When I go to my ‘tags’ section, I see the old tags there but next to them it says 0-posts. What the hell hapened? Did someone hack in and delete my stuff? I know I changed my Permalinks to Custom Structure /%postname%/ a few days ago but the rest of my blog’s fine. Can my stuff be recovered – ie, is there a backup WordPress generates that I can access on my webhost?
