• I run 5 wordpress blogs on shared hosting @ ipower. Yesterday all 5 blogs started only showing the WordPress famous five minute install page, almost as if WordPress can’t find the database.

I have checked my wp-config.php file and the db settings are correct. I also renamed all my plugin folders just to eliminate that as a possibility. I can view the database with the myPHPadmin tool in cPanel and everything seems OK there too.

A friends WordPress blog also hosted on iPower is working fine but it is a different IP.

Can someone point me in the right direction on what else should I should look into?

  • if you contact ipower – do they say everything is normal on their end?
If so, run a “repair” on database tables from host’s phpmyadmin

I opened a ticket with iPower, hope to hear from them shortly. What exactly will the repair database tables do? I have a test WordPress site (which is one of the 5 sites i am having issues with) that I can test the db repair on in the meantime

I just renamed the five minute install page which is the file /wp-admin/install.php Now I get an “Error 310 (net::ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS): There were too many redirects”.
