I ran into a problem with trying to update a page on my website. Once I finally go it to update I found out that I somehow lost all the formatting on the page. I did backup all the WordPress files to my computer, so it seems one solution would be for me to simply replace the changed files from my backup. The big question is how do I find out which files correspond to a particular page on my website?

In Page Builder the page is named Client, yet I don’t see a file named that. The changes that I made are very minimal, I added 2 lines of text and deleted about 2 lines of text. I can easily redo that work, if I can start back to where it was. A more extreme approach would be to replace all the files with my backup.

When I made my initial post I was sent to the SiteOrigin forum, but after I was helped by a guy there and at least was able to resolve the update problem, we found I lost all my formatting. He thinks now that I have Elegant Themes Divi, how do I know which Page Builder I have? An SEO company put together my website, so I don’t’ know if they used Divi and now I’m on my own doing minor tweaks.

In the future before I hit the update button can I clone a page, so I basically have a backup of it readily available or is there an undo feature that would also restore the page? In this instance to resolve the problem of not being able to update my website, I had to delete the plugin W3 Cache, so I’m not sure if that’s where undo history is stored. I’m new to WordPress, so please give me some guidance.

    Here’s the solution

The W3 Cache plugin boosts speed performance. Don’t need – leave it deleted.

Click on the page to edit, look below at the
    “revisions”
see different dates i made changes
    click on 8/12 15
click on – restore this revision
    hit publish – “update”

This is like an undo button. I restored the page to an earlier version.
Now make any changes in text or visual mode, but never hit save while in the text mode or it will lose the formatting (Divi bug)
after hitting save, choose publish – update
