Lost access to website – lost website

    Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

    I have done different things to rectify this now am confused as to what I have changed and what I have not.
    Is there anyone to contact to help me please get my site back.
    I have contacted my host who provided a whole new set of files but I am amateur at this and don’t know what to do. I have deleted the WordPress site out of fantastico but still not allowed to create a new site because old one there but not accessible. Any suggestions?

  • There are currently no files in your root directory. None. The directory is empty. Perhaps [re]contact your host for assistance on restoring your site from backup.

    Thanks for you post, I have emailed host to ask if backup possible from their end.

    How would I restore the root directory? I have done so many mistakes with this I really wanted to start again but this is proving to be very difficult. And to nut out all the mistakes I have done will take far too long.
    I will wait to hear from host. Again thanks for the advice.
