lost access to site login & admin

  • Help please. I can no longer access my site login using geoffgluckman.com/wp-login.php
    It gives Page not found error message.
    This has occurred after installing Better WP Security
    I can see my pages, but not access to make changes/ posts, etc
    Thank you very kindly, geoff (not sure of version & now can’t check it)

    Start by checking if your .htaccess file is causing the issue.

    1. Using FTP or whatever filemanagement tools your host has provided you with navigate to the /home/content/21/7932521/html/gg/ directory.
    2. Once there locate and rename the .htaccess file to .htaccess-old. Just rename that one file and nothing else. You may need to enable viewing hidden files on your ftp client.
    3. Clear your browser’s cache and cookies.
    4. Try and re-login to your WordPress dashboard after that.

    If the plugin added something to .htaccess to interfere with your login then that may fix it.
