Lost a bunch of images

Didn’t notice for sure when it happened, but since I’ve been running 3.0+ and went to create a new post and add an image from the media library, the library only had 12 images in it. I have well over a hundred and I can both see them with my FTP client and they are all present in older posts.

Strange. I’ve tried deactivating all plugins, changing permissions on all files. Even uploading a bunch of images to the files I thought the media library was able to read, but to no avail. Each time the same 12 images.

I’ll try some other fixes and post my findings. But in the meanwhile, does any one have any suggestions?
