• I was working on a post and had been for like 2 and a half hours, when I thought to myself I shoud save as I haven’t saved in hours, and I might lose my update if I don’t save now.

I press the save button and low and behold an internet explorer error page comes up and I lose all my work. I tried to immediately press back but my WordPress post had removed all my updates and I had lost 2 and a half hours work. I tried to use the autosave and revisions listed but the autosave was of my post straight after it lost all my work and so were the revisions.

Is there anyway to get the most up to date post back? I’m pretty frustrated as I was purposely pressing save just incase it crashed, and it crashes from me saving, that’s irony right?

Also, how can I save myself from it crashing again in future? As I don’t want to lose my work again and have to re-do it all again!

I have now re-written the work I previously lost but have a new problem.

I have written it all in Wordpad and saved it there so I don’t lose any work again in future, but when I paste the Wordpad text into a WordPress post and press to publish it, it refuses to publish.

If I try to publish in IE I get a HTTP 406 error that says:

Internet Explorer cannot read this webpage format

    http 406

    What you can try:

Go back to the previous page.

    More information
This error (http 406 Not Acceptable) means that Internet Explorer was able to receive information from the website you visited, but the information was not in a format that Internet Explorer can display.

Alternatively if I try to do the same in FF, nothing happens I just get a blank white page.

I don’t know why it won’t publish as it’s all just regular text,

    • bullet points and a few image URLs that were published in the WordPress post before and worked fine.
    • Any ideas?
