    Hey,

I use SG Optimizer to optimize images on my website.
My post width is 700px and so is the width of the images. None of the images are enlarged (the source image is the same size or larger than the image loaded into the post).
    My settings are:
    New images optimization: Checked
Generate WebP Copies of New Images: Checked
    Optimization Level: Lossless

However, the resulting images are not “lossless” – pixelation (or w/e you call it) is visible and makes some images with text almost unreadable.

Additional notes: image are uploaded as jpg/jpeg, I tried reoptimization of the images, original images (before optimization) look ok.

I understand the meaning of optimization and webp compression, but I imagine “lossless” should be without any noticeable loss of quality.

    Cheers,
    Matic

WebP copies are indeed Lossless. However, the New images optimization is lossy. Keep it off and use only the WebP conversion if you want to upload already optimized images.

I am so sorry, it wasn’t SG Optimizer’s problem.

For those with the same problem:
My blog is 700px wide and so are the uploaded images. However, due to the caption I was adding to images, my theme (or whatever) added 10px additional padding to images, making them 690px and resulting in a lower resolution than the actual width.
I simply removed the padding with custom CSS and quality was back to normal.
