Loss of right sidebar in editor

  • have lost the right sidebar in the editor — i.e. no publish, view, update or anything else. Running on a Mac. I am not an esperienced WordPress user so I probably did something foolish. It occurs on two different browsers firefox/Safari and on different computers. However, if I create a new user account and give it administrative access, the sidebar is back and everything works perfectly. I am running on WordPress 5.9 as I have taken over a complex site and don’t want to break anything (yet). Classic editor – set to 2 column all checkboxes screen pulldown checked

  • @cdjonah This might be due to your screen options changing if this affects you but not other users. If you look at the top right hand side of the page, you’ll see a ‘Screen Options’ tab you can click on that will provide options of what you see on the screen.

    The ‘Layout’ and ‘Screen Elements’ sections may have been toggled. See the following screencast to see how to configure it: https://d.pr/i/cRj9mE

    Thank you for your response — settings are set for two columns, and two columns appear. Unfortunately there is nothing in the column that usually has the editing goodies.

    @cdjonah Hm, I can’t find any additional settings either in the Classic Editor plugin or in the WordPress user settings. Very strange indeed. I wonder if it’s something custom on your site?

    One other thing you could try is to temporarily deactivate all of your plugins and enable them one by one and see if that fixes the issue until you come across the plugin that might be causing the problem. Likewise, you could try temporarily switching your theme to a default theme like Twenty Twenty to see if that resolves your issue in case there’s anything in the theme code that would be affecting this.

    Interesting thought. However, I created a new admin account and there everything works. If I log on using either a different browser or on a different computer, the data don’t come back on that particular account.

    We are facing issues in our website WP Admin area. The ‘Visual’ tab section is not displaying any contents on the classic editor and tool bars also missing in either pages or posts …

    Wordpress version: 6.0.3
    Classic Editor version: 1.6.2

    Kindly provide a fix asap
