Hi. Thank you again for all the updates.
Unfortunately, after updating my previous mediatip no longer works.

I thought maybe I just needed to redo it.
So, I opened up the post and deleted the media tip. When I tried adding it again, but now when i click on the add-a-toottip icon, nothing happens (no window appears). When I click on the add-a-glossary-index, a window does appear, but it only has tabs for list and A-Z, there is no place to choose a glossary term.

I have not seen another person with this issue, so maybe it’s another problem with the divi theme?
here is a page that used to work. I had a mediatip on the word “Topics”. The code is still there like this:

    [ithoughts_tooltip_glossary-mediatip link="https://itaintmagic.riken.jp/?attachment_id=1381" image="https://itaintmagic.riken.jp/wp-content/uploads/icons/topics-tooltip.png" imageid="1381"]<span class="ttiptrig"><strong>Topics:</strong></span>[/ithoughts_tooltip_glossary-mediatip] [my_tagicons width="50" height="50"]

    here is the webpage: https://itaintmagic.riken.jp/whats-up-with-us/let-the-blogging-begin/168/

Ok, sorry to ask you to install another browser. Chrome is well for most cases, but not this one. I’ll try to reinstall my dev env to work on a fix as soon as possible.

it’s no big deal. i was surprised it wasn’t installed.
I tried it in fire fox with a similar result.

No, it’s absolutely not the same result! It means that the server does not answer anything, which is normal for a production server. Can you set the LogLevel? Can you, for example, set to TRUE the constant into wp-config.php? If you can’t, I’ll try to find by myself, but it can take some time…

    Hi.
I am not sure I have access to the wp-config file.
actually, I have to leave the office in a few minutes, so I can try figuring it out tomorrow. Thank you for all your immediate responses today.

I’m not sure why the 2 buttons would be so different. it seems that in general admin-ajax is ok. Am I the only person with this problem?

I’ll check back tomorrow. Thanks again.

The transition from 1.x to 2.0 triggered a lot of error (just look at the other support threads…) and I am really ashamed because of that. It is possible that your current problem is directly linked with those others.

I’ve just repaired my dev env. I can code again, and dig again ?? see you tomorrow!

Another option is to watch your server’s logs, which are, for example, and for Apache2,in /var/log/apache2/error.log. You can tail it before calling the ajax entry point to see in live what happen, with a command like sudo tail -f /var/log/apache2/error.log. If you can’t sudo, ask your sysadmin to give you a copy of the file after having reproduced the 500 error, and give it to me.

    Hi, back again.
getting the server logs is going to be troublesome, but I can try if you really need them. It won’t be fast though. Is there anything else I could do?

    Plugin Author Gerkin

    (@gerkin)

Why? What is the problem with getting the logs? I’ve configured a dev env with PHP5.3 (the version that caused the biggest issues) and everything seems fine here. Without the error logs, I won’t be able to know exactly what your server does when it throws the error…

the problem is dealing with the people who control our server. They sometimes take days to reply.

Oh…. I understand now why you seem pleased by my answer time haha

So, I will try to help myself and find a solution as soon as possible. Meanwhile, I invite you to downgrade your version to the last 1.x available, if you are in a hurry to have functionnal tooltips.

    Sorry for the inconvenience

    Thread Starter rikengct

    (@rikengct)

yes, haha! but seriously, they are awful.

    how do i downgrade?
can you send the zip file for an earlier version?

    Plugin Author Gerkin

    (@gerkin)

Now, watch out the magic of SVN…

You can find a list of version’s archives here. When a new upgrade will be ready, and when you’ll also be to deal with possible bugs, just update, and see you here ??
