• Hey, I recently had to update my password after getting locked out of my Blog through Jetpack. I reset the password and got access back but now I cant post any entries or change anything but my profile page???
I have no dashboard options other than a box showing my most recent posts. No Settings other than changing the colour theme of my profile page and the Jet pack link that doesn’t let me do anything either.
Is there a time frame you have to wait after getting locked out before you get access back or is it something else??

    Thanks

  • More likely something else. Try manually deleting JetPack from your plugins folder – you’ll need to use FTP or CPanel to access your site files on the server.

    Hey Thanks,

I have deleted the jetpack plugin and now on IE I get 500 error on my website an on chrome I can access WP admin but still only have access to a dashboard page that shows my most recent posts and profile settings. I still cant access anything else.

    What is the site URL?

Try clearing the cache and cookies on IE.

looks like something messed up your user permissions.

might have to check in mysql or phpmyadmin.

I deleted all history/cache/cookies on IE and all other browsers on my laptop and still no change. Im due to post as well tomorrow so this is really annoying.

What would I be looking for in MySQL/phpmyadmin laliz? I know enough about coding to get a site up and running and to modify a template but never had to deal with permissions and such before.

    Thanks

What is the site URL? Have you tried renaming the plugins folder to plugins.hold?

    it is https://www.RedRite.co.uk/blog

I have deleted the Jetpack plugin altogether so the only plugins running are those that are part of the theme

Rename the theme (temporarily) and rename the plugins folder.

Tried, I either get a blank white screen

Do you have a default theme in the themes folder – you need to have one there – i.e. Twenty Fifteen. Download one and manually add it there – so you should have:

    wp-content
         plugins.HOLD
         themes
             twentyfifteen
             yourtheme.HOLD

If you still have problems after that, see what errors show up:

I have updated everything removed plugins and reinstalled yet I can not get the admin screen options to show on the dashboard.

    Have you tried enabling debug?

BTW, I do not see a default theme on your site? And JetPack is still active – so something isn’t working in changing things on the server.

    Morning,

I have set it up as you suggested and it just left me with a blank white screen at my URL.
I reset it but now I have done it again to show you how it looks.

It still isn’t giving me access to the admin screens in Dashboard either

I still see the same site, but try reinstalling WP – download a new copy to your computer and using FTP, replace all files and folders EXCEPT wp-content and wp-config.php. Be sure to delete the old copies before uploading new ones.

Also did you enable debug – did you get any errors?
