Nice plugin with some cool features. I’m using it with the custom theme option, however when I update the plugin using the updater, all my custom theme files are deleted.

Is there anyway for the plugin to update without deleting everything or is it just a wordpress thing and I need to restore from backup every time?

    Thanks

    Simon

    Hi,

Thanks for contacting us, As of now in “Templates” option we have default theme available, though you can use old theme.

    Kindly follow the below steps:

    1. Go to “default” folder inside “[plugin root]/public/partials/themes”.
    2. Copy “default” folder, rename your custom theme and paste it on other directory (for further use).
    3. Go to Dashboard >> Plugins >> Update Profile Grid Plugin.
    4. After updating the plugin, Go to “[plugin root]/public/partials/themes” and paste your custom theme folder.
    5. Again go to Dashboard.
    6. Go to the Global Settings of Profile Grid.
    7. Select General Settings.
    8. Look for the Template option.
    9. Select your “Theme Name” by the Template default option.
    10. Save the Settings.

Please let us know, if you require further assistance on it.

    Thank You.

    Hi

No feedback really – it’s a pain to have to backup the folders as makes the process more complex than it needs to be, however this is the only way to do it

    Hi Simon,

We have made changes to the plugin code and you do not need to make backups of theme folders each time now. After upgrading Profile Grid latest version.

You can use the upgraded version options and you can create new templates by copying and renaming “default” folder () inside “[plugin root]/public/partials/themes” to “[your current theme directory]/profilegrid-user-profiles-groups-and-communities/themes”

This is only one time process. After this process you do not need to make backups of theme folders each time.

Let us know if you still have any problem with it.
