• I wanted a plugin for a simple contact form. This is a paid plugin with not out of the box option for a simple contact form.

There is not entries for the free option. Useless.

After some research I found: “sorry for the confusion…” type of comment, yes is possible with a lot of steps to get email notifications (no entries).

So, dont lose your time with this.

  • Hi mercadder,

I do apologize if entry options felt unclear in any way. It sounds like you may have already run across some details about this, but I want to also share those here in case they’re helpful to you or anyone else who runs across this post.

First — you’re correct that entries are not stored to the database for WPForms Lite. However, entry data can absolutely still be collected, and this is where notification emails come in.

By default, all forms come with notification emails enabled. These are set to send to the WordPress site’s admin email, though you can choose to change this and/or add more recipients if you’d like (just be sure to separate extra email addresses with a comma).

The main body of these emails contain our {all_fields} Smart Tag, which will pull all of the entry details (the field titles and values that the user entered/selected). This email content can also be changed, though we recommend keeping this Smart Tag and simply adding other details around it, so you can be sure you’re collecting all form data.

And in case it helps, here’s our tutorial on setting up/customizing notification emails. The only section of that tutorial that’s not included in Lite is titled “Adding Multiple Form Notifications” (this is a paid option that lets you send completely unique emails to different recipients). But all other options are available to everyone.

I hope these details are helpful, and that you’ll consider giving us another shot down the road!
