• Firstly an apology – I’m sure this will have been covered before but I’m new to all this and don’t really know how to phrase what I’m asking (and therefore search for!).
I’m creating a blog that I’ll update as I ride my bike from the UK to Cape Town. You can see it here.
The blog is displayed on Updates–>News from the Road, but I also want to display the most recent post on the Home page, underneath a brief explanation of what I’m doing (yet to be added).
Anyway, I’ve had a look at this which would seem to answer my question. However, when I put the php code onto the Home page (via the WordPress page editor), it displays the code as plain text – if you go to the site you can see how it displays at the moment.
    Any advice?
(Also, sorry about the dodgy banner – thrown together while a proper one gets designed!)

Wow, cool adventure, I want to do this also once in my lifetime. Can you put the all of the php code of the page template file you are using in the pastebin and link back to it here.

Sorry to be a complete noob, but how does pastebin work?
If you want to see the code I tried, I simply copied and pasted it from the last post of this thread.

You have pasted the code inside an html section, not a php section. That is why the code is showinging as html, and not the output of the code.

Clearly yo have the code in the right palkce, just check that it is inside <?php and ends ?>

Just copy the text into that large white box and click submit

you will get an URL to use here
