    I’ve logged out, deleted cache, checked for possible conflicting plugins (I have very few and none that deal with the loop).

    The theme is basic and uses Gutenberg. I’ve looked at the template, and there are no weird queries. I even deleted the query block and started from scratch.

    The plugin settings are default. I haven’t changed a thing.

    …. Wow. Am I missing something that isn’t in the documentation (lol)? Should we deactivate the plugin after archiving the pages/posts we want? Because in the process of deactivating and activating all the plugins, the only one that I found conflicting with LH Archived Post Status was LH Archived Post Status! Yes, it appears the plugin is conflicting with itself. I deactivated LH Archived Post Status, and the archived posts disappeared from the front page. I activated LH Archived Post Status, and all the posts appeared again.

    Now what?

    So firstly the the only issue here is that the frontpage is stilll listing archived posts. This should not happen. i have some ideas but I’ll deal with that at the end.

    The plugin is not conflicting with itself (it is supposed to be left on and the fact that archived posts disappear entirely is noted in the faq.

    It is very difficult so say why you have the issue. But most likely what you think is the main query is being intefered with by another plugin or your theme. As mention in the faq have you deactived all other plugins and switched to a standard twenty something theme? If so does this still occur?

    I wasn’t clear. The posts disappear from the backend when I disable the plugin. When the plugin is active I know that I can see the archived posts via the horizontal menu on the Posts/Pages menus.

    It seems like they are permanently marked as archived and not visible when the plugin is inactive. Unless you fix this issue, I can only do it by going through phpmyadmin and editing the DB. (And then deleting your plugin.)

    That could be how it’s intended to work, and if so, it seems like a penalty to the user for using the plugin. All the archived posts should be visible to the admin. We should be able to un-archive posts.

    Oh. About the posts appearing on the front page. When the plugin is active, it is a theme issue, which I find very strange because the theme developer is among the most popular on www.remarpro.com. WP themselves have even commissioned him to create a theme for them. He’s not some rag-tag operation.

    I will try and rebuild the front page template (again). Technically, it is a theme issue. However, it seems kind of bizarre to make a plugin that only works with WP 20xx themes.

    If you could tell me whether you will fix the permanent archive post issue, that would be wonderful. If not, I’ll have to dig into the db.

    Fixed or not, I can’t trust your plugin and will delete it after I get my posts back.

    Duh. Brain fart. I see how I can un-archive the posts.

    there is no penalty for using my plugin. If you no longer want to use my plugin just change each post back to publish and then deactivate the plugin (you can use the bulk edit) This is mentioned in the plugin faq here:

    You’ve confirmed the issue is with the theme, as I suspected. More specifically the probable reason is that my plugin (in its default setting) only filters the main query on the front end. Block themes are very flexible so what you think is the main query may not be (you may be able to change this in the theme, I don’t know)

    One last point

    my plugin works with the vast majority of themes and plugins, but there are 10s of thousands of both and they can all potentially cause conflicts. Especially as some do things in some very non standard ways. I don’t make money out of my plugin, there are no upsells. It’s something I’ve built, I use, and think is cool. I support it as is and it works for most people. If custom development is required the faq deals with that too

    I hope you agree everything is simple, straightforward, and documented.
