On setup I receive the following error: “Your site may not be ready for Site Kit. Looks like Site Kit is unable to place or detect tags on your site. This can be caused by using certain caching or maintenance mode plugins.”

The site is running on SiteGround with their Optimizer running so I disabled it completely and the error persists.

Your Setup documentation at sitekit.withgoogle.com states: “If you’re not using a caching plugin and you encounter this notice, reach out to our support team in the WordPress support forums.”

So here I am. I’m happy to provide URLs and access privately as required.

    hi @benloftus,

Thanks for reaching out and sharing details of the error you’re encountering, along with the troubleshooting steps you’ve taken. So we can review your current setup please share your Site Health information and I an see if I spot anything that may be resulting in this pre setup notice.

Should I be unable to determine anything we can then perform a Health Check & Troubleshooting check, to rule out any third party plugin or theme related configurations or functions which may be impacting setup.

    Hi @benloftus,

Thanks for the update, and sharing your Site Health information. From checking the details and inspecting your site I can see your site has various optimizations performed, with some console errors coming appearing as a result of some possible configurations.

In order to ensure Site Kit gets successfully connected can you temporarily deactivate the NitroPack plugin before attempting setup once more? If the same notice appears please let me know. If so what we’ll do to rule out a multi party plugin conflict is a check using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin.

Let me know if you have any questions with the above.
