• Do not support Microsoft IIS. Kind of strange. Any good reason? IIS normally has better support for corporate websites that grow to a point that memory management is a big issue, since IIS has better support for it in comparison, not saying is the best, I’m saying is a choice. If you depend on this plugin and your traffic grow in an alarming rate, you have no other option than just using Apache/Ngnix base hosting.

You probably will never found yourself on this situation, but if you do, you have no other choice. In my experience, it is preferred to use technology that it is not platform dependent, love to have choices and to give choices to my customers as well.

  • Raphie, we simply don’t support IIS because we’re currently quite stretched around the launch to make sure that MailPoet works in hundreds of different server configurations.

For this reason, we narrow our scope to ensure that we offer the best possible support.

This is the same reason why we currently don’t support right to left languages and Multisite.

If you asked specifically what is wrong with IIS, it was mostly helping users set up their cron jobs and other server configs.

Some stats from the previous MailPoet:

    1. IIS servers are less than 1%
    2. RTL is about 2% of our users
    3. MS is about 5%
