Looks good but very little is free and too many bugs

  • The free plugin installed no problem but with a completely clean install of WP and the GeoDirectoy Starter Theme it still has bugs.
    The theme customiser won’t load at all and you’re limited to locations in one city with the free version. Everything else is an add on which must be bought. Users trying to add a listing which doesn’t match the one city you’ve chosen will receive seven pop up error alerts by the browser with no option to correct it. There is also a very precise format to addresses but no obvious documentation on what this format is.
    It looks really nice and could be great software but the developers grossly over promise what the free software is capable of.

    thanks for the feedback, however we find it quite unfair.

    Customizer loads fine with GeoDirectory and Directory starter installed. I just tested on a fresh install to double check.
    If it isn’t loading for you, the cause could be another plugin or an incomplete setup.

    The fact that the free plugin is limited to 1 city is not hidden, you just needed to read the plugin description.

    Getting several alerts when trying to enter a listing out side the default city, could be caused by a JavaScript error on the add listing page, which could be causing the customizer not to load too.

    There is no precise format for addresses, you can even enter just the city name or a name of fantasy, then drag the marker on the map to get lat and long. Not sure where you got this information from.

    Rather than saying that we grossly over promised, I’d say that you barely tested the plugin and decided to leave a nasty review based on assumptions.

    Normally when people are interested in using a plugin they ask for support if they find any glitch, they don’t rush to trash other people’s work, especially when a good part of it, is offered for free.
