• I’ve been using Tareq Hasan’s Project Manager and it’s a bit too simplistic for me, so when I looked at UpStream’s PM, I was really hopeful. It looks more comprehensive than Hasan’s, and even with some lack of uniformity in the UI, it seemed pretty straight-forward, but I tried twice to add a Task to my project (yes, after first adding a Milestone), and it froze the page both times. I’d finally get that “Kill or Wait” message. The second time I waited awhile, but nothing.

I couldn’t bring myself to only give 1 star, because this app looks very promising. Maybe I’ll try it again next year.

..Well I tried again (now: 2021-06-29) and front-end link just gets a big 404 error; “Add Task” button – nothing happens when clicked and no tasks are added. Looks nice but absolutely useless. Too bad! Am changing to 1 star now.

    Hi @compusolver

Like @elizxer, we’re disappointed you left a negative review so quickly.

I can 99.99% guarantee that the problem is not UpStream. The problem is your hosting.

Most likely your PHP version is too low.

Please check that your hosting meets the minimum requirements: https://upstreamplugin.com/docs/technical-requirements/

“The problem is your hosting” –
You know, rather than getting defensive and making absurd assumptions, you could take a real interest in what may be a problem for many people who just don’t bother to post negative reviews because they don’t like getting the “slap-back” in return.

I sent upstream a link to a phpinfo page. I host with a well-known company that is recognized as being several steps above hostgator, godaddy, etc.

    Some specs:
    Apache 2.2
    PHP Version 7.0.24
    MySQL 5.6
    WordPress 4.8.2

As someone who is a developer (and hosting reseller), if this had been a customer of one of my plugins, I would have focused more on a potential plugin compatibility issue – especially since I’d stated I’m using another project manager.

If both attempt to use a slug like ‘project’, that could be an obvious issue. But for you to just jump on the hosting??? Where is that coming from?

And for this elizxer guy who only joined github last week, may I suggest you take time to get more experienced and perhaps accumulate some manners before posting publicly?

    Hi @compusolver

    Thanks for the feedback.

The hosting details are very helpful (the 2-star review is less helpful, especially without contacting us first about the issue).

We did get your email – thanks for that. We’ll reply via our help desk, and when we find the solution, we’ll post back here for other users to find.

I can say that we 100% don’t recommend installing Project Manager and UpStream on the same site.

We started with a demo of UpStream with sample data. We then installed Project Manager on the same site. Immediately, all UpStream data was taken over by the new plugin, only in a corrupted form. Neither plugin worked correctly. Project Manager started throwing errors all over the page. It’s not the fault of either plugin – they are just incompatible.

Hi @compusolver. Following on from the last message, please try uninstalling or disabling the Project Manager plugin.

Did that fix the problem with UpStream?
