    Hi,

I’m looking for a lightweight alternative to WPML and from my research this plugin seems to be the best one out there.

Is there a way to migrate everything I have in WPML to Falang?

    Thank you

    Thanks Leandro for your message.

I have start to look to make a migration plugin from Wpml to Falang but nothing is released yet.
A Falang user send me a test WPML site to try on real site.
    You’re site i a woocommerce site , what is your template ?

i will only transfert menu/post/page/product in my first release but i don’t know yet it will be available.

ps: nice picture by the way.

Sorry for the late reply, I never got a notification about your message.

I’m using the theme Fluxus. It doesn’t support WooCommerce out of the box, so I added support myself following the official docs. It does support WPML though.

I can send you access to my staging site if that helps. I can also do some tests on my local environment if needed. I’d love to help get the plugin released.

    Hi,

i have started the plugin for migration
i will have something to test next week.

    The languages are created automatically
the post are migrate (post, products, menu…)

a backup need to be done because i have to delete the wpml translation posts.
WPML use a post by language
FALANG use a post for the default language and translation in the meta for the translated language.

my test site is in 5 languages
    en,es,cz,de,ru

    Hi,

I can test this on a local environment or a staging live site. I have only two languages: English (secondary) and Spanish (primary).

    Ok,

this is perfect, 2 languages it’s easier.

don’t forget to make backup and be sure you can restore it, the migration tools will modify original data

    Just to update the thread,

I have send a pre release version to @leandroprz

the post/page/products (woocommerce) where imported to Falang

It’s an Ajax import due to the big number of data he has.

I’m finishing it and i will release it.
