Looking to Have 2 Separate Search Forms – One Used for a Certain Post Type Only
-
Hi,
I am using an RSS plugin on a certain page of my website to retrieve many items. I want the ability for people to search them (without any other site content showing up on the search results). The above in itself isnt a problem, because the plugin uses a certain post type. So i guess i can modify my website’s core search functionality to ONLY find that post type. This way, no other unwanted content shows up when people perform a search (only RSS results will be shown).
However, if i do that, then my whole website’s Search functionality will be restricted to only finding that post type. Thats my problem.
So how can i have 2 separate search forms running? The WP default search on the main site, plus a separate search form showing within the page that displays my RSS items? (and displaying only rss results).
I hope i explained the above clearly. Im not a developer at all, im merely learning through various tutorials (this one, specifically) –
P.S. Im trying to avoid the installation of additional plugins right now, since my site already has a ton of them.
Thanks a lot!
