    Thanks mate.

Yes, this is a highly-demanded option at the moment.

I’m caught at a crossroads. I know this will take me a few hundred hours to create myself. Unfortunately, this is the only option I see at the moment. The authors of the previous image map addons for tinymce apparently have no interest in creating an updated version.

Now, if I am to spend all this time… I can’t morally include it in the free version of WP Edit. I love everyone involved with the free version of WP Edit, I do. But there is simply not enough of a return to warrant the inclusion of something that takes so much effort to create.

Furthermore, if I do decide to take this on myself; it will probably be a month or two before I have something in working order. So there is definitely a time delay.

I don’t know.. just thinking out loud ??
    What are your thoughts?

As a developer, I know how much time – often un-billable time – goes in to coding. Especially complex coding that makes the front end function seamlessly.

Personally I have no trouble paying for premium plugins. I like the way Gravity Forms has their membership set up… annual fees with tiered pricing… one site, three sites, or the developer license.

I didn’t use too many of the functions in ultimate MCE, but from what I’ve seen in searching for an image map replacement, there aren’t too many other options – free or paid. That alone tells me you’ve got a product that is worth money.

Understood. Thank you for the unbiased feedback.

I dug deeper last night. There is a jquery plugin called ImageMapster:
    https://www.outsharked.com/imagemapster/

It looks like it has some potential. I started a test addon today; and will begin pushing it’s abilities to see if it can offer what we need. I’ll have to create an interface; and a ‘bridge’ between the two. But, even if it won’t work; at least I’ll get some better “hands on” with image mapping.

Stay tuned. Follow up anytime you like ??

I just want to ‘bump’ this topic back to the top of the forum.
I will give it some attention asap.
