Looking for plugin that limits registered user access

  • Hi all,

    I’m looking for a plugin that enables me to set restrictions to what a registered user can access (except the admin of course).
    E.g. I want some users to ONLY be able to add Events, while I want others to ONLY add job postings.

    Does anything like this exist?

  • Since you mention specific user actions not native to WordPress I assume you are either using custom post types or a plugin.

    If you are using a plugin, you can check with the plugin author and see if he/she has created any custom capabilities. If so, you can use the Members plugin to add those capabilities to a specific role.

    If you are using custom post types, take a look at this article by Justin Tadlock with walks you through the process of add capabilities to custom post types.
