We’re looking for a new contributor to this plugin. All the current contributors no longer have the time to maintain this project. If you’re interested, please comment here. This is a very popular plugin with some complicated code, so an experienced WordPress developer is required.

Here are some things that need to be worked on:

    Existing support requests.
    Code re-factoring.
    CSS overhaul.
    Admin options de-cluttering.
If interested, visit the Ajax Edit Comments GitHub project page or leave a comment below: https://github.com/ronalfy/ajax-edit-comments

  • Hi, Ronald! I’ve been looking for an opportunity to contribute to an adopt-me tagged plugin; WP Ajax Edit Comments looks like it’s in the most need for help!

I feel comfortable helping out with all the items listed, but I think it’d be best to have a designer-contributor go through the plugin so I’d have someone to work with (I’m far from a designer!).

Hey Josh, awesome. Can you e-mail me at ronalfy+aec @ [gmail]

What about adding the plugin to core?

Suggesting it as a features for core plugin.

It’s a good idea, but this plugin has been around since 2007, and never once has a core contributor been interested in rolling out a feature like this in core.

There’s several features that Core already includes, like quick edit in the back-end, undo, Ajax mark as spam, moderation, etc, so I’m not sure how useful this plugin is anymore in the admin panel area.

The best candidate would likely be simple comment editing, but that kind of plugin belongs in something like Jetpack instead of core IMO.
