• I would like to put up a magazine-style website, not unlike https://www.roadrun.com/blabbermouth.net/ just more magazine-like.

What I’d like to do :

    – Cover page with only 5 or 6 recent headlines, and teaser text with “more” links that would lead to full article.
    – Full article page that allows users to log in and comment on the article.

Can someone point me to a few sites that are already doing this? All I ever seem to find are Blog sites where it’s just 1 long run-on page containing a month’s worth of blogs.

    Thanks!

PS.. there would never be more than 1 article per page. This is important. Sounds silly but I can’t find any examples like this.

I would be very interested in this as well…

Off hand I personally do not know of a demo of what you need. Its very do able but the templates need to be hacked about. Seeing an example might not help. Its quite advanced stuff.

So the templates are all open source? I haven’t tried the program yet, just wondering if someone with average to advanced HTML/CSS skills (but no PHP) could “hack” those pages into pretty much anything he wants.

Try this link and also glance at the author themes:

Well in WP the whole enchilada can be edited by the user. For some folk they are at it full time:) A good html /CSS skill set is probably going to be enough – maybe a small amount of php. Looks like a fun project.
